ABOUT:

Born and raised in Sacramento, CA, Will DaRosa spent his childhood and adolescence playing baseball, riding bikes, making short films and going to metal shows. Growing up with two brothers and a sister, Will was always making short videos with his siblings as the stars. Shot on VHS and cut between two semi-broken VCRs, he learned about shot sequencing and a crude sense of coverage. He eventually saved up enough money cutting lawns in the neighborhood to purchase a Panasonic DVX100, and with that camera he directed music videos for many bands in the northern California punk/metal music scene. Always trying to make his projects look better, Will subscribed to American Cinematographer even before entering film school at California State University Northridge. At CSUN, he worked as a grip, electric, AC and Camera Operator (Panavision 35mm Grant) on as many student productions as possible. The films Will’s shot have screened at the Cannes Short Film Corner Program, Pasadena International Film Festival, San Luis Obispo International Film Festival, Hollyshorts, Riverrun Film Festival, LA Shorts Fest, Burbank International Film Festival, Silicon Beach Film Festival, Las Vegas International Film Festival, Cincinnati Film Festival, Los Angeles Cinefest, Austin Spotlight Film Festival, Santa Monica International Film Festival, Santa Fe Film Festival, Maui International Film Festival with more to come.

In between, working as a cinematographer on films, series, and branded content, Will has been a camera operator on several seasons of different unscripted shows for History Channel, LA Times, Paramount+, Tubi and FYI.  Most recently, Will was working as a Camera Operator on the Array Team in 2nd Unit for the upcoming feature film Twisters, directed by Lee Isaac Chung, produced by Steven Spielberg and Frank Marshall and shot by Dan Mindel ASC.
